Dear Neighbors,
People often ask me, “Why are you running to be our state representative?” My answer, I grew up in the area and we have many problems that are not being addressed. Issues related to the Elderly and their families, Education, Cost of Living, Traffic and Crime. Drugs, prostitution, and other crimes plague our community. It does not have to be that way. But we need leadership that brings us all together and takes action. Someone who has the legislative experience to get bills passed.
I have worked in the legislature for over 15 years. I started as a researcher, then a budget analyst, Staff Attorney, and Chief of Staff to the Judiciary and Labor Committee. I have worked with the Committee Chairs in the House and the Senate to pass bills to become law for the past two years. I also obtained a law degree and have a small law practice to help middle class families.
In my 31years in this community, I’ve learned we want so many of the same things. Good schools. Quality, affordable care for the elderly. Less traffic. Lower cost of living. Safer neighborhoods. These are not impossible dreams. As your Neighborhood Board chair, I started working on these. As your state representative, I’ll help make these dreams come true.
That’s because this community is filled with many caring people who share the values that my parents taught me. The importance of family. The reward of hard work. Taking pride in your community. Taking care of others. All of you represent something precious about Hawai'i. Something worth working for. Something worth fighting for. You and the values you live out everyday need to be represented in our government. Our voices need to be heard where it makes a difference.
That’s why I’m running. To help solve problems we face. But more importantly, to make sure your voice is heard. I humbly ask for your support.
Aloha,
